Paranormal Activity
NO NO NO!!! I hate this movie! My skin is crawling and I am afraid of every noise I hear.I must watch something funny before bed for if I do not I am sure to have nightmares! This movie almost bored me and the male actor was a total ass but the ending, oh the ending. So wrong in so many ways! I knew it was coming but it got me none the less. If you have any inclincation to believe in demons or ghosts this movie is not for you. Just as I was about to write this one off as a waste of time it scared the crap out of me. My husband to his credit is rarely taken in by the horror movies that I force him to endure but this one even got him. If you want a good scare and can manage to stay awake for the whole thing I recomend this movie but it is not for the faint of heart. Way to believable and has that , " this could really happen," effect to it. Blah, time to go watch psych and forget about this one if that is possible! Until next time.....I think everything is going to be fine now.

Scare Tactics
All hail to Tracy Morgan for hosting the best show ever!! As well thank you to the SYFY channel for playing the best show ever! I was lucky enough to spend my monday night watching the show Scare Tactics. Talk about hilarious! So along the lines of punk'd but with the scary twist this show is a crowd pleaser! How funny is it to watch a person who thinks they are modeling for hand casts and they get tricked into thinking that the doctor is going to cut off their hands...gut busting laughter ensued in my house while we watched the victim of this prank knock the doctor out of the way a run screaming out the door. Another guy thinks he is interviewing criminals who have returned to the scene of their crimes. When the real killer arrives the victim tries to convince him that the camera man would be a better target than himself. What a riot! There is gore and suspense and comedy plus a fantastic host that puts it all together. Awesome is all I can say about that!! Until next time....are you scared?

Horror for Kids
All hail to R.L Stine for creating the GooseBumps series for kids. As well I must pay homage to the HUB channel for playing the haunting hour which my five year old son loves. As I sit and enjoy listening to my two sons tell each other scary stories I am inclined to think that alll of us are born with an innate love of horror movies. There is something about the scare factor that gets ones adreniline pumping and endorphines running wild that calls to even children. Why else would children everywhere in America relish the Halloween season! Hello, they love going out dressed up as various ghouls and goblins and getting candy in return for their efforts. Ok so maybe the candy has more to do with it than I would care to admit but still I think it is all about the horror that really gets them reeling for October 31st to come with it!! To all children everywhere you are not alone in your love of all things scary! Until next time...Happy Haunting!!

Television Horror
While this is technically a movie blog I felt it my resposibility to include the everyday horror shows that one can find on television. Horror movies are synonomous with blood, gore, and a tyrannical villian who inflicts horror and other madness on its victims. This being said the monsters in a horror flick are usually unbelievable and therefore make the movie enjoyable and though gruesome not mentally disturbing. The same cannot be said of the villians in television horrors. Without furthur adeu I am talking about t.v shows such as criminal minds, law and order svu, and csi. The villians in these shows are very disturbing because of the potential of reality involved in the scenarios the shows present. In addition to blood, gore, and villians the t.v shows aforementioned also rock a persons mind and at times leave them with disturbing and conflicted mental issues. That is true horror! So if you are a true horror buff you cannot dismiss these everyday horrors found on your television. Thanks for tuning in!

The Skeleton Key
Ok so The Skeleton Key is not really a horror movie it is a suspense thriller but it still maintains the creepy factor and so it must be mentioned. Nothing says creepy quite like the swamps of Louisiana. The plot is fantastic and without giving the movie away, I can say that it leaves you with a sense of "I could totally see that happening" Kate Hudson does a great job and the actor who plays Ben is awesome. Gena Rowlands is a master of her craft and she does not disappoint in this movie!
If you are in the mood to have your beliefs challenged this is a must see. The ending of so many horror or suspense thrillers tend to leave one saying, " they could have done a better job with the ending," not so in the case of The Skeleton Key. The ending was superb and while you may figure it out it does not lessen the effect it will have on your mind. Until next time remember....it doesn't work unless you believe!

A real life creepy moment
So a friend and I went to see the movie Jason vs. Freddy, which was hilarious, and some creepy madness happened while we were watching the movie. First of all we were the only ones in the theatre which is always a little scary. I must add that it is sad that no one else watches horror movies during the day but I have other things to do at night at least I did when this happened anyway. So as we are watching the movie it stops playing and the theatre goes dark. Nice! Ok no big deal just a little freaky. then the movie comes back on and the voices are not from the movie but some advertisment that is playing on sound while the movie is our visual. Well that all got fixed and we finished the movie with no furthur events. I must add here that it was great! Freddy is such a great villian with his sarcastic remarks and well Jason is just a killing machine! It was a great idea to pit the two against one another! So later that evening myself and my friend, who was my roomate at the time, sit down to watch soutpark. While we are watching the show it just cuts off! WHAT!! true story and then the show resumed. How freaky was that! I have to say it was some coincidence!! Well just thought I would share a personal freaky moment! Please feel free to add your moments in hte comment box I would love to hear!! Until next time remember.....don't go to sleep!!

Darkness falls
WOW! I just spent an hour and fifteen minutes exposed to a horrible horror movie about the tooth fairy. Aside from a few jump moments this movie is a shame. It starts with a little background of a woman who gets burned and can't go into the light. Apparently she becomes the toothfairy who takes teeth in exchange for coins as long as one doesn't look at her. If one happens to peek then she will kill them. WTF! Really?? The acting wasn't bad and while I give creativity points for trying to invent a horror story plot outside of the norm I still say don't bother with this one! Oh well they can't all be winners! until next time ......stay in the light!
Favorite Scary movies of All Time

Elvira Mistress of the Dark
So pretty much all of my life I have loved scary movies! Every October the chill in the air gets me ready to start my month long celebration of scary movie watching! I have inducted my husband into the club very much against his will. Last night we started this years scary movie with a tribute to the campy scary movies. Our first movie was,(drumroll please)....Elvira Mistress of the Dark.
A fantastic movie for those who love hilarity and great one liners! Elvira is a trashy goth chic with a raunchy attitude and surprising morals. The town in which this movie is based is a super rigid overly supressed place. Elvira comes to town and with her witty charm and large....personality... shakes things up and gives the town a new perspective and a fresh breath of air that is way past due.
Great scenes including a spell cast on the upity persons from town, who are eating at a picnic one minute and the ravaging one another the next, to the great haircut Elvira gives the dog she inherited this is a classic campy horror movie that is fun for all!!
